Venus' Mysterious South Polar Cyclone | Space News

Mike Philbin's Free Planet describes video (left), "...Wal Thornhill banging out his Electric Universe message, this time focussing on the weird south-pole atmos- pheric anomaly [on Venus] which he calls a DOUBLE FILAMENT electric current (from an interaction with the Electric Sun) that's causing the spiral feature. The video ...goes on to discuss the strange hot spot at the north pole of Saturn...." A related article, "Saturn’s Strange Hot Spot Explained," provides description of Saturn's south polar vortex. Thornhill makes strong argument for theory of an Electric Solar System in an Electric Universe!

'Mysterious Hurricane at Saturn's North Pole '

Andy Ingersoll of Cassini imaging team narrates short fascinating video, "Mysterious Hurricane at Saturn's North Pole." "Cassini has been in orbit around Saturn for 9 years and we've been following this hexagon which surrounds the north pole. It's bigger than 2 Earths, and it's a wandering jet stream. But it's been winter in the north. So we have not been able to see what's at the center of the hexagon. But now it's spring. And what we've found at the center of the hexagon is a Saturn hurricane. This is a view from directly over the north pole, which is made possible by the orbit of the spacecraft which is now taking us over the pole. The winds are flowing at 300 miles an hour, which is 4 times hurricane force. The fluffy white clouds in the center are about the size of Texas. We can use special filters to measure the heights of the clouds. The red are low clouds and the green are high clouds. We call it a Saturn hurricane because it has the eye, it has the high winds, but it's different from an Earth hurricane because it's locked to the north pole. And unlike a terrestrial hurricane there's no ocean underneath. And that's one of the puzzles we're trying to figure out,"  informs 97 second video.

Virgin Galactic Closing in on Commercial Spaceflight

Virgin Galactic Closing in on Commercial Spaceflight
Universe Today informs, "SpaceShipTwo Fires Rocket Engines for First Ever Supersonic Test Flight." "The test flight began at about 7:02 a.m. local California time as SpaceShipTwo took off from Mojave strapped to the belly of the WhiteKnightTwo (WK2) mothership. S2 was released from the mothership at an altitude of 47,000 feet (14 km) some 45 minutes into the flight," reports article. Virgin Galactic Owner Richard Branson's "...near term goal is for SpaceShipTwo to fly to space – commonly defined as 62 miles (100 km) altitude – for the first time before year’s end, validate the vehicle with a rigorous test flight program of gradually expanding the flight envelope to insure full operability and safety and then carry the first revenue paying passengers to space thereafter from Spaceport America in New Mexico." Times, they are a changin'!

Retro Sci-Fi Weekend: 'Devil Girl From Mars'

A 1954 British Sci-Fi B-flick, "Devil Girl From Mars,"Patricia Laffan stars as Princess Nyah. BADMOVIES.ORG review pans plot: "She [Nyah} is on a mission to collect specimens of men for her barren world, because Mars endured a violent race war which climaxed in the destruction of the male species. The females killed every single male on Mars! One has to imagine whichever devil girl shot the last devil guy said something along the lines of "Oops." Needless to say, I hope the same never happens here on Earth. The opposite sex might be entirely maddening, but remember, they're also a whole lot of fun." Review singles out robot man for B-movie special effects quality: "The amazing robot... ...HEHEHEHEHEHE! You honestly have to see the robot in action to understand my fits of mirth, the thing brings back childhood memories. Take one cardboard box and put it over your head. Now you're a robot, complete with the box swinging around on the pivot of your head and smacking against your legs. The great thing is how proud our little space traveling female Nazi is of this." The best part you can drop below fold for admission free retro sci-fi entertainment!

Icarus Comet ISON Pix

Icarus Comet ISON Pix
Hubble Space Telescope captured images on April 10 of Comet ISON.  ISON, is classified, an Icarus or Sungrazing Comet because of its close distance at perihelion to the Sun.  On November 28th, ISON will be 700,000 miles from the Sun.  The April 10th image taken as ISON hurtled towards inner solar system just within orbit of Jupiter.  Universe Today article explains, "comets become more active as they near the inner solar system, where the Sun's heat evaporates their ices into jets of gases and dust. But even at this great distance ISON is already active, with a strong jet blasting dust particles off its nucleus. As these dust particles shimmer in reflected sunlight, a portion of the comet's tail becomes visible in the Hubble image."  Will Comet ISON live up to advanced billing as one of brightest comets ever?

Secret Space Vol. 1

Chris Everard produced and narrated informative "Secret Space". "From the late 1940s onwards, an unholy alliance of O.T.O devotees, NAZIs and senior 33rd degree Freemasons dupe the American taxpayer of billions of dollars and fake several moon missions in order to further their work on secret 'black budget' operations -- a series of secret space programmes designing space vehicles and weapons systems to thwart attacks by alien craft... For the first time on film we see the 'Baby Shuttle' -- a small space shuttle which fits inside the payload of the existing space shuttle and is then released into outer space for covert operations...It sounds incredible -- but Secret Space contains a wealth of documents, photos and footage which proves that all this and more has come to pass. Secret Space exposes the fact that nearly all the first American astronauts into space were high ranking 32 and 33rd degree Freemasons. And that the brother of one of the Apollo Mission managers was appointed Sovereign Grand Commander of all Freemasons in America as a 'thankyou' for engineering the fake Apollo moonshots of 1969," informs You Tube summary. Everard takes you where you've not gone before - the occult side of space program.

LulzSec arrest in Australia

from Guardian.co.uk: Federal police charge IT worker, 24, with attacking government website and say he has claimed to be a leader of hacker group.

Australian police have arrested a man they say is affiliated with the international hacking collective LulzSec on a charge of attacking and defacing a government website.

The 24-year-old senior IT worker, whose name was not released, was arrested on Tuesday night at his Sydney office, the Australian Federal Police said. The man, who police say has claimed to be a high-level member of the hacking group, was charged with two counts of unauthorised modification of data to cause impairmen, and one count of unauthorised access to, or modification of, restricted data. If convicted he could face up to 12 years in jail.

Lulz Security, or LulzSec, is an offshoot of the hacking group Anonymous. LulzSec was formed in 2011 and quickly grabbed headlines after claiming responsibility for a series of high-profile cyberattacks against the CIA, Sony Pictures, the US Public Broadcasting Service and Britain's Serious Organised Crime Agency.

Several members of the group have been arrested, including its reputed leader, known as Sabu. Sabu turned out to be FBI informant Hector Xavier Monsegur, who federal officials said helped them build a case against several other hackers. Two weeks ago British LulzSec hacker Ryan Ackroyd pleaded guilty to several cyberattacks.

Australian Federal Police Superintendent Brad Marden said the man arrested on Tuesday hacked into an Australian government website and defaced it earlier this month. Marden would not say which website was attacked, only that it did not belong to a federal agency. Police did not believe any sensitive data was accessed in the attack or that anyone else was involved.

The man, from Gosford, about 50 miles (80km) north of Sydney, claimed to be the Australian leader of LulzSec, Australian Federal Police Commander Glen McEwen said. But Anonymous Australia appeared to laugh off those claims on Twitter. In response to a follower asking if anyone knew who the man was, the group tweeted: "Nope not part of the usual suspects on any of our [channels] of communication."

Police began investigating the man two weeks ago after they discovered the government website had been hacked.

"This individual was operating from a position of trust who had access to sensitive information from clients including government agencies," McEwen said. "The AFP believes this man's skill sets and access to this type of information presented a considerable risk for Australian society."

The man was released on bail and ordered to appear in court next month.

Retro Sci-Fi Weekend: 'Cat-Women Of The Moon'

Retro Sci-Fi Weekend:'Cat-Women Of The Moon'
What do you do when you're running out of air on the Moon?  Your million year old civilization drawing to a close.  A few surviving Cat-Women on the dark side of the Moon, telephatically influence Marie Windsor to bring a spaceship to them.   1953 Sci-Fi B-movie, "Cat-Women of the Moon," brings viewer strictly B-movie effects such as a cigarette catching fire or the principal actors' hair dryer domes for space helmets.  There's still an endearing element to B-film fare as Wikipedia describes plot:
"An expedition to the moon encounters a race of 'Cat-Women', the last eight survivors of a 2-million-year-old civilization, deep within a cave where they have managed to maintain the remnants of a breathable atmosphere that once covered the moon. The remaining air will soon be gone and they must escape if they are to survive. They plan to steal the expedition's spaceship and return to Earth."
"Through the use of their telepathic ability the Cat-Women have been subliminally controlling Helen Salinger (Marie Windsor) so she can win the navigator slot on the expedition and lead the crew to their location. Once Helen and the male members of the crew arrive on the moon the Cat-Women take complete control of her mind. They are unable to control the men's minds, but they work around this obstacle with Helen's help and the use of their superior abilities and feminine wiles. 'Show us their weak points,' one says to Helen. 'We'll take care of the rest.'"
The back story of lead actor Sonny Tufts, is perhaps, more interesting than the movie. A Yale grad and member of Skull and Bones, born Bowen Charlton Tufts III was from a prominent banking family, the name also given Tufts University. Tufts became something of an urban legend due to his alcoholism and a notoriety for drunken incidents.  The name of Sonny Tufts became well-worn Hollywood punchline for his drunken reputation throughout Hollywood!

U.S. House of Representatives Shamefully Passes CISPA

from EFF.org: Today, Internet freedom advocates everywhere turned their eyes to the U.S. House of Representatives as that legislative body considered the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act.

For the second year in a row,  the House voted to approve CISPA, a bill that would allow companies to bypass all existing privacy law to spy on communications and pass sensitive user data to the government.  EFF condemns the vote in the House and vows to continue the fight in the Senate.

"CISPA is a poorly drafted bill that would provide a gaping exception to bedrock privacy law,” EFF Senior Staff Attorney Kurt Opsahl said. “While we all agree that our nation needs to address pressing Internet security issues, this bill sacrifices online privacy while failing to take common-sense steps to improve security."

The legislation passed 288-127, despite a veto threat from Pres. Barack Obama, who expressed serious concerns about the danger CISPA poses to civil liberties.

"This bill undermines the privacy of millions of Internet users,” said Rainey Reitman, EFF Activism Director.  “Hundreds of thousands of Internet users opposed this bill, joining the White House and Internet security experts in voicing concerns about the civil liberties ramifications of CISPA.  We’re committed to taking this fight to the Senate and fighting to ensure no law which would be so detrimental to online privacy is passed on our watch.”

EFF extends its deep gratitude to the many organization that have worked with us on this campaign and the tens of thousand of EFF members who helped us by contacting Congress to oppose CISPA. We look forward to continuing to fight by your side in defense of civil liberties as CISPA moves to the Senate.

Lyrids Meteor Shower Peaks April 22

The Lyrids meteor shower peaks on April 22nd, but may be a no-show because of predicted cloudy weather. "The Lyrids (LYR) are a meteor shower lasting from April 16 to April 26 each year. The radiant of the meteor shower is located in the constellation Lyra, near this constellation's brightest star, Alpha Lyrae (proper name Vega); hence they are also called the Alpha Lyrids and sometimes the April Lyrids. Their peak is typi- cally around April 22 each year. The source of the meteor shower is particles of dust shed in the cometary tail generated by the periodic Comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher. The Lyrids have been observed for the past 2600 years, " informs Wikipedia.

Orson Welles' 'War Of The Worlds'

Orson Welles' 'War Of The Worlds'
The radio adaptation of H.G. Wells' "War of the Worlds," occupies unique place in American culture. Orson Welles' October 30, 1938 radio broadcast produced widespread fear and panic!  Many Americans were convinced an alien invasion was in progress!  Paul McGuire adds a footnote to historical incident in recent article, "INVASION FROM THE STARS: OPERATION BLUE BEAM & THE TIDES OF THE NEPHILIM WAR," with information not widely known to public:
"The Princeton University Radio Project, under supervision of psychologist Dr. Paul F. Lazarsfeld, Frank Stanton (later head of CBS), and Dr. Hadley Cantril, hired Orson Welles to adapt H. G. Wells' fiction book The War of the Worlds for radio in order to study the behavior of citizens under panic conditions. War of the Worlds was heard by six million people, 1,700,000 of whom believed in a Martian invasion, and 1,200,000 of whom were frightened enough to take action… either by running away or by preparing to fight the invaders. Later Dr.Cantril wrote a paper entitled: 'The Invasion From Mars…A Study in the Psychology of Panic.'  Cantril's study examined the power of the radio broadcast media and its effects upon a population under the direct influence of fear."
Wow! It's confirmation of long held suspicion there was a psychological operation component to the Welles broadcast. McGuire informs reader of the specifics and confirms reality. It's still one heck of a sci-fi broadcast, coming up on its 75th anniversary. Check out Media Monarchy's 73rd Anniversary coverage.

'Discover Planet Jupiter'

History channel explores the fifth planet in "Discover Planet Jupiter."  Perhaps, most interesting coverage is impact in July 1994 of Comet Shoemaker-Levy9.  You Tube summary describes, "...journey half a billion miles from the earth's surface to a mini solar system of over 60 moons rotating around a powerful planet of gas. Its flowing colors and spots hold strange beauty, but contain violent storms and jet streams. Could this big, bright ball of turbulent weather have been the star of Bethlehem? Could one of its moons harbor life beneath its icy crust? Jupiter, the giant planet, is the king of many questions concerning our solar system and could possibly hold the answers."    Program describes Jupiter's weather in detail, which is far more complex than Earth weather  You can also find out what it would be like to ride a balloon in Jupiter's Red Spot!

Earth's Missing Moon

Earth's Missing Moon NASA Grail Mission data results in speculative theory of a second Earth satellite. The Daily Galaxy article, "Earth's Missing Moon -- NASA: 'May Explain a Long-Standing Enigma'," reflects an interest maintained in theory:
"According to recent scientific speculation, the Earth once had two moons gracing our night skies. 'It's an intriguing idea,' said David Smith, GRAIL's deputy principal investigator at MIT. 'And it would be a way to explain one of the great perplexities of the Earth-Moon system – the Moon's strangely asymmetrical nature. Its near and far sides are substantially different.' The Moon's near side, facing us, is dominated by vast smooth 'seas' of ancient hardened lava. In contrast, the far side is marked by mountainous highlands. Researchers have long struggled to account for the differences, and the 'two moon' theory introduced by Martin Jutzi and Erik Asphaug of the University of California at Santa Cruz is the latest attempt."
Two moons may account for the data but remains theory, nonetheless, an interesting one. Cyber/space\war first covered speculation on a second moon, last year.

Super EMP Threat: Sci-Tech Or PsyOp?

Average Americans find their world rocked ever more often, sometimes, in unanticipated ways.  True, the Electromagnetic Pulse Threat gets trumpeted in the media: however, new details change the face of pre- sent threat with unsettling implications.  Alpha Omega Report shares assessment of present Super EMP threat:
"'In 2004, the Russian generals told the EMP Commission that North Korea was getting help developing a Super-EMP nuclear weapon from contractors from Russia, China, Pakistan and elsewhere, and could probably test such a weapon 'in a few years.' A few years later, in 2006, North Korea tested its mysterious 'nuclear device' that produced an explosive yield of only several kilotons, and so was derided by the Western press as a failure--but hailed as a success by North Korea.'"
The 2006 test by North Korea presented in the media as a fizzled nuke, was in reality, a successful test of an EMP weapon.

It gets worse!  EMP devices may already be in orbit to be deployed over America as described below:
"During the Cold War, the USSR experimented with a secret weapon, the Fractional Orbital Bombardment System (FOBS), that used an ICBM like a Space Launch Vehicle to put a nuclear warhead into orbit, like a satellite. Instead of using the ICBM to lob the warhead on a more accurate arcing ballistic trajectory, flying along the shortest range to target, like an artillery shell, the FOBS lofted the warhead into a 'fractional' or partial orbit, sacrificing accuracy for limitless range. FOBS could reach any nation or threaten any target anywhere on Earth. A Super-EMP warhead does not weigh much, and could probably be delivered by North Korea's Fractional Orbital Bombardment System, successfully tested in December 2012, against any nation on Earth. Thus, North Korea already possesses an ICBM and poses a mortal nuclear threat to the United States, and to all nations on Earth--right now."
Readers may jump to conclude a clear threat and immediate danger! The present writer would implore to suspend judgement, an EMP attack will not leave any discernible signature to deduce culpability. What is going on here? Russia backing crazy Kim Jong Un threats to divide United States resources and diminish mission in Syria and Middle East?  Will threat provide cover for a false flag event?

'Evacuate Earth'

"Evacuate Earth," a Natgeo video, offers viewer what-if Doomsday scenario.  "What would we do if the Earth were about to be destroyed? Evacuate Earth examines this terrifying and scienti- fically plausible scenario by exploring the technologies we would devise to carry as many humans as possible to safety. In Evacuate Earth, we envision a scenario in which a neutron star - tiny and incredibly dense - is flying straight toward our solar system. When it arrives in 75 years, it will pull our planets out of their orbits and shred the planet we live on. Our only choice is band together, create a vast ship and a new drive to power it, and find a new planet in the closest possible solar system to escape to. After a journey of almost a century, the ship will deliver mankind's remnants to our new home, and the human story will begin again," describes You Tube summary.   Is there a reason Neutron Star selected for Doomsday projectile on collision course with Earth?

Curiosity Finds Mars' Atmosphere Depleted But Still Active

Curiosity Finds Mars' Atmosphere Depleted But Still Active
The Daily Galaxy reports rover Curiosity readings show Mars atmosphere still active! "Curiosity measures several variables in today's Martian atmosphere with the Rover Environmental Monitoring Station (REMS), provided by Spain. While daily air temperature has climbed steadily since the measurements began eight months ago and is not strongly tied to the rover's location, humidity has differed significantly at different places along the rover's route. These are the first systematic measurements of humidity on Mars." reports article.  There are variations in humidity, and the present writer wonders, if there are variations in thickness of Martian atmosphere?  Are there areas where atmosphere less depleted, e.g., in a valley?   "Martian Sky Is Blue," a past post, reveals a blue vista similar to Earth?  Are we conditioned to believe in an inhospitable and uninhabitable Mars?

Navy destroys drone with laser weapon ahead of 2014 deployment

from theverge.com: The US Navy has been pursuing solid-state laser weapons capable of setting other vessels on fire for years, but now one is almost ready to actually be put out to sea. The Office of Naval Research (ONR) today announced that it is aiming to "field and test a solid-state laser prototype" in early 2014 aboard the USS Ponce. The Ponce is a transport vessel from the 1970s that was recently upgraded into a hi-tech floating base and is stationed in the Persian Gulf, in range of Iranian attack boats.

As evidence of how far it's come with laser technology, the Navy released videos and imagery today of its prototype cannon tracking and burning a small drone out of the sky. The test firing took place off the coast of California in July last year, an ONR spokesperson told The Verge. It followed on the heels of a previous test of the Navy's laser weapons in early 2011, when a laser cannon was used to ignite and destroy a small boat.

Putting such a weapon out into the field aboard the Ponce, however, is "a major show of confidence" in the technology, as Danger Room's Spencer Ackerman wrote last month. That's especially true given the fact that defense spending is likely to face cuts in the upcoming federal budget. Still, the Navy thinks the technology is worth further investment in and may actually be cheaper than other current defense weapons. "Compared to existing ship self-defense systems, such as missiles and guns," a Navy specialist wrote in a report to Congress last month, "lasers could provide Navy surface ships with a more cost effective means of countering certain surface, air, and ballistic missile targets." The latest test is further evidence that the Navy is setting its laser ambitions higher than you may have guessed.

Three Dutch Banks' Computer Failures Suggest Drill For A Holiday

Three Dutch Banks' Computer Failures Suggest Drill For A Holiday
Real Currencies relates odds too great for three Dutch "Too Big To Fail" Banks to have computer system failures, simultaneously!  You might consider possibility it's a drill for a bank holiday?  The blog entry suggests:  "This week three banks, ING, Rabo and SNS, simultaneously suffered major computer malfunctions, leading to a temporary closure of their on-line facilities. Their problems were ‘unrelated’. It is completely unprecedented. The chances of a coincidence are close to zero. For years some in the blogosphere have speculated that ‘computer problems’ might be a good excuse for the Money Power to call a bank holiday and ‘reorganize’ their system. This looks like a drill."   The blog post goes further to suggest a bank holiday, would serve double-duty as a psyop: "Why is the Money Power busting its own banks? They don’t really care: all the major banks own each other. 100% market share remains guaranteed, even if some of them drop. Also, the smaller banks go first and they are gobbled up by the big boys, often with ECB/Fed/taxpayer financial support. So this crunch is also a major consolidation effort by the Money Power. Busting the banks is a good way to plausibly sell the many that the good days are over." The game is completely rigged with the banksters, holding all the cards!  A depression serves to consolidate power, and also, to reduce people's expectations for their futures!

Get 'Sirius' April 22

Sirius Disclosure describes in blurb: "The Earth has been visited by advanced Inter-Stellar Civilizations that can travel through other dimen- sions faster than the speed of light. What we have learned from them about energy propulsion can bring us to a new era, but those in power have suppressed this information in order to keep us at their mercy. It is time for you to know…and this documentary will let you in." The world premiere of "Sirius" occurs April 22 in Los Angeles.  A synopsis of movie in three parts available below the fold.

Sirius Disclosure provides nice synopsis to each part to Sirius movie:
"I. The first section of the film will share the vast scope of evidence that ET’s exist, from official government documents, high-level witness testimony and audio and visual evidence. Disclosure and CSETI have the largest library of never before seen footage gathered over 20 years of study."
"II. Next, we interview a group of brilliant scientists who aim to expose long-held secret technologies. They show us how energy can be derived from the fabric of space around us, and how industrial cartels have suppressed this information. What did Nicola Tesla know, and why did the FBI seize his papers upon his death? Man-made anti-gravity vehicles have been in use for over half a century, some even used to perpetuate the ET abduction hoax in order to control the masses. Now is the time for these technologies to be acknowledged and developed for peaceful energy purposes."
"III. In the final section, we explore CONTACT: the CE-5 principles and how to build a bridge to a trans-dimensional universe. We will also share how the average person can make contact with people from other worlds. They are only a thought away…"

Google faces EU action over privacy policy

from aljazeera.com: Six European countries, including France and Britain, have launched a joint action against Google to get the US Internet giant to scale back on new monitoring powers that watchdogs believe violate EU privacy protection rules.

France's Cnil data protection agency said in a statement that the concerted action was launched "on the basis of the provisions laid down in their respective national legislation" to force Google to bring its privacy policy in line with European regulations.

Authorities in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain will also investigate the Internet giant's privacy policy.

The action came after the EU's 27 member states warned Google in October not to apply the new policy, and gave it four months to make changes or face legal action.

When that deadline expired in February, several European data protection agencies set up a task force to pursue a co-ordinated action against the search engine pioneer.

Despite sharp criticism from US and European consumer advocacy groups, Google last year rolled out a common user privacy policy for its services that condensed around 60 previous sets of rules into one and allowed the company to track users more closely to develop targeted advertising.

Among the Google services affected were Gmail, YouTube, the Android mobile system, social networks and its ubiquitous internet search engine.

No changes

Cnil said it had seen no changes to Google's privacy policy since the company's representatives met on March 19 with the task force, which included agencies from Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.

Cnil also said it had notified Google that it had launched an inspection procedure.

Google has repeatedly maintained that its privacy policy respects European law.

In a statement sent to the AFP news agency, the company said "privacy policy respects European law and allows us to create simpler, more effective services. We have engaged fully with the data protection agencies involved throughout this process, and we'll continue to do so going forward".
But critics argue that the new policy gives the operator of the world's largest search engine an unprecedented ability to monitor its users.
EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding welcomed the move.
"It is good to see that six national data protection authorities are teaming up to enforce Europe's common data protection rules," she said in an emailed comment.

"I am confident that the European Parliament and the EU member states will strengthen Europe's

enforcement tools substantially in the course of this year."

Still, the news took little toll on Google's shares, which in mid-day New York trading were 1.12 percent higher at $810.15, while the Nasdaq index of technology shares was up by 1.04 percent overall.
