Police Need 'New' Internet Surveillance Tools, Say Chiefs

Bill C-30 would give police warrantless access to internet communications*
from cbc.ca: The Canadian Association of Police Chiefs is calling on the federal government to pass its controversial internet surveillance bill so police can fight cybercrime more effectively. Association president and Vancouver police Chief Jim Chu says he is concerned Bill C-30 will die on the order paper, meaning officers investigating criminal activity on cellphones and the internet will still have to get a warrant every time they want to intercept communications by cybercriminals. "Law enforcement continues to be handcuffed by legislation introduced in 1975, the days of the rotary telephone," said Chu on Friday morning in Vancouver. Bill C-30 was introduced by Public Safety Minister Vic Toews last winter and was immediately criticized by many groups concerned about the sweeping powers it would give the government to track the ordinary activities of citizens online without judicial oversight.

Great Springtime Storm of Saturn

Brigette Hesman, who studies Saturn storms at the University of Maryland, recaps the "Great Springtime Storm" of Saturn as some call it in video (left). Wired.com provides rest of the story:  "This global storm was the largest recorded tempest since 1903 and grew so large that the storm head traveled all the way around the planet and encountered its own tail. After the most visible effects subsided, scientists considered the storm over. But since May 2011, researchers have been watching two warm spots in Saturn’s clouds using NASA’s Cassini spacecraft and several Earth-based telescopes. Such spots appear periodically and were expected to cool down after a month. Instead, the hotspots merged and produced a colossal cyclone, briefly exceeding even Jupiter’s famous Great Red Spot in size and brightness...The bright beacon is now expected to slowly fade away and be gone by 2013..."

Weekend Sci-Fi Movie: Timeline

Timeline, a short Sci-Fi film, entertains with totally believable premise of corrupt corporate practices. "The year is 2083, it is an era of great innovation, time travel to the past has become a reality. Adam Reed, heir to the massive TMI corporation stands to inherit the company from his father, but events take a drastic turn. After being arrested for a crime he didn't commit, Adam is forced to escape into the past, pursued by the ruthless TMI corporation, who are using every resource at their disposal to track him down and kill him," explains summary on YouTube. The graphics are well-done, and while short on plot, there appears to be a part two in the offing. The present writer hopes, it represents, new trend of serial sci-fi on the net! Life is getting better!

It's an eye-opener to see former weatherman Scott Stevens predicting how Hurricane Sandy will unfold four days in advance! Stevens describes in matter-of-fact manner how weather makers are working off coast of British Columbia to affect East Coast of United States days later!  It's an impressive display of knowledge!  Wow!

Ocean Of Europa Deepest In Solar System?

Europa, a Galilean moon of Jupiter, whose subsurface ocean is estimated at 62 miles deep, maybe deepest in our solar system, according to The Daily Galaxy?  "The deepest ocean on Earth is the Pacific Ocean's Marianas Trench, which reaches a depth of 6.8 miles awesomely trumped by the depth of the ocean on the Jupiter's moon, Europa, which some measurements put at 62 miles. Although Europa is covered in a thick crust of scarred and cross-hatched ice, measurements made by NASA's Galileo spacecraft and other probes strongly suggest that a liquid ocean lies beneath that surface. The interior is warmed, researchers believe, by the tidal stresses exerted on Europa by Jupiter and several other large moons, as well as by radioactivity." The prospects for life on Europa seem promising!

Big Brother’s New Toy: An EMP Cruise Missile

John Galt provides a great take on new Boeing EMP cruise weapon: "Just when you thought it was safe to leave your electronics out of the Faraday cage for a day or two, along comes Boeing with a new toy for Big Brother; a cruise missile which emits a microwave burst of energy which creates an electro- magnetic pulse (EMP) as it flies by disabling all electronic devices. In a story from Gizmodo, a test was conducted last week and per the article by Jamie Condlieffe:

'The CHAMP [Counter-electronics High-powered Microwave Advanced Missile Project] tests took place in the Western Utah Desert on October 16th. As it flew by a two-story building, its on-board microwave system shut down every piece of electronic equipment running inside the place. In fact, the test went so well that it disabled all the cameras recording the event, too.'"

Did Electric Arc Form Valles Marineris?

David Talbott narrates excerpt on You Tube, "Planet Of A Thousand Mysteries," that examines possible role of electric discharge in formation of Valles Marineris on Mars.  The Electric Universe theory derided by mainstream as pseudoscience, often offers a more coherent explanation. Talbot provides account how powerful electric arc crossed the face of Mars to carve out smooth sculpted surfaces, a terrain that doesn't resemble the results of geological processes and water erosion.  Wal Thornhill also examines Valles Marineris in 2003 article, "Spiral Galaxies & Grand Canyons." It's best to keep an open mind, after all, Earth was once believed the center of our Universe.

Flight Into Mariner Valley: Valles Marineris

Valles Marineris, the largest known canyon in our solar system at  2,480 miles long, 125 miles wide and 6 miles deep, "...that’s five times deeper than the Grand Canyon and long enough to stretch across the entire contiguous United States," observes Universe Today in article about Martian canyon, "Valles Marineris: The Grandest Canyon of All." The canyon located along the Martian equator, gets its name from the Mariner 9 Orbiter that discovered it in early seventies.  It's an interesting flight simulation through the gigantic canyon, but did it form through geological processes?

Winds Of Uranus

Uranus, seventh planet of solar system, appears a placid blue in 1986 Voyager 2 image (picture). New infrared images captured by Keck Observatory in Hawaii, reveal "bizarre weather" patterns on Uranus, however. “Some of these weather systems stay at fixed latitudes and undergo large variations in activity. Others are seen to drift toward the planet’s equator while undergoing great changes in size and shape. Better measures of the wind fields that surround these massive weather systems are the key to unraveling their mysteries," said Larry Sromovsky, a Wisconsin Univ.-Madison researcher in recent Universe Today article. Sromovsky leads new study of Uranus using Keck II telescope.  A theory offered by article:  "One possible explanation, is that methane is pushed north by an atmospheric conveyor belt toward the pole where it wells up to form the convective features visible in the new images. The phenomena may be seasonal, the team said, but they are still working on trying to put together a clear seasonal trend in the winds of Uranus." Retro Sci-Fi Weekend: 'The Phantom Planet'

"The Phantom Planet," a 1961 low budget sci-fi film comes with caveat, viewers may suffer (original) Star Trek series deja vu!  The sets seem amazingly similar to later television series, but perhaps, it serves as a compliment to production that predates series by five years.   Dean Fredericks, as Capt. Frank Chapman, Coleen Gray, as Liara and Richard Kiel, as Solarite monster, star in film directed by William Marshall. "American International Pictures released it as a double feature with Assignment Outer Space," according to Wikipedia.  "In the future world of 1980 the United States Air Force's Space Exploration Wing has bases on the moon and is on the eve of a mission to Mars. When one of their Pegasus spacecraft with two crew members aboard mysteriously disappears, Mars mission pilot Captain Frank Chapman and his navigator Lt. Ray Makonnen are sent to search for them in their own Pegasus craft." A MST3K synopsis labels "Fredericks - a sort of Peter Graves manque," i.e., with similar qualities but less success. MST3K describes in merciless critique, "Soon, Chapman's spacecraft is damaged by the asteroids requisite to space films of the era. During an EVA attempting repairs, Makonnen [co-pilot] is lost to distinctly bad and ugly outer space. Chapman's ship is then pulled to the surface of a giant asteroid, which we learn is called Rheton, by some kind of ray." An early highlight, the extravehicular activity (EVA) supplies fifties concepts of space travel (images available here).  Chapman loses consciousness as spacesuit suffers meteorite damage.  Makonnen, played by Richard Weber, rescues Chapman to only become separated from craft and recites Lord's prayer as he drifts off - lost in space.

Rheton led by Sessom, Francis X Bushman, isn't much more than a space rock, where atomic bindings of the small asteroid, electrons and atoms are in tighter orbits.  The inhabitants mastered these atomic energies, possessing gravitational propulsion, weapons and defenses. The atomic characteristics of Rheton also result in minaturization, Chapman shrinks to six inches once he breathes Rheton air.  A literal Lillputian world in space, Rheton inhabitants include women, who run around in short cheerleader skirts.  Sessom informs Chapman after brief trial for striking out at first inhabitant to accost him, he must remain on their world for security reasons.  Chapman meets up with Liara and the mute Zetha - two of the chicks in short skirts.  The slasher critics from MST3K even admit, "on the bright side, he [Chapman] begins chilling with Liara, the beautiful, blonde daughter of Sessom, and the lovely, spooky, mute brunette, Zetha." A viewer is left to wonder, if Dolores Faith received enough coaching during shoot, to be granted dialogue late in movie?  MST3K chalks it up to Chapman below.

MST3K spots woeful contradictions in film. Rheton denizens, despite advanced tech,  live "...in Flintstones-like conditions - dimly-lighted rooms of rough-hewn rock, with stone slabs for beds and stone tables. The Rhetons don't need to eat because, it is explained, the atmosphere takes care of their nutritional needs."  Sessom explains however, people on Rheton got soft and lazy when machines did everything, so an explanation is provided for their primitive living conditions. 

The slice and dice continues as MST3K minces plot not words:

"Chapman becomes increasingly involved in Rheton matters. He finds himself attracted to Zetha, who mysteriously acquires the power of speech, apparently from inhaling Chapman's testosterone. Challenged by the hot-headed Herron (Tony Dexter from "Fire Maidens of Outer Space"), he fights the shirtless "duel of Rheton to the death" with the "combat rod" and the "linoleum tile of doom". (Guess how it turns out.) After dismissing Colleen Gray from The Leech Woman, he gradually wins Sesom's complete trust, is designated as his eventual successor and begins to feel ambivalent about returning to Earth. Suddenly, a Solarite space armada launches a deadly attack on Rheton. Rheton is equipped with navigational controls that will be familiar to any theremin player, and the aforementioned gravity curtain, a device that destroys the Solarite armada by means of small curved lines painted on the film. In order to advance the plot, a Solarite prisoner breaks out of stir and goes on a "rampage" - that is, if waving his arms about listlessly (lest the fragile costume fall off) and tenderly applying a Torgo-esque stroke to the sleeping Zetha's cheek qualifies as a rampage (the rampaging Solarite is our old friend Richard Kiel)..."

Francis X Bushman [picture, top right] represents biggest back-story, whose hey day were paydays in silent film.  Bushman donated land where Grauman's Chinese Theater stands, today. Most remembered for role as Messala in 1925 version of Ben-Hur [picture, bottom],  Bushman wore label of "King of the Movies" even before Clark Gable.  The silent film star proved decades-long obsession for Lon Davis, who wrote with wife biography: "King of the Movies: Francis X. Bushman."  The book manuscript was completed by 1983 but only published, finally, a few years ago.  Perhaps, Bushman was blackballed by Louis Mayer after all? Rheton survives Solarite attack, Sessom retires from fatigue to his quarters, after sweating out battle at crystal controls.  Chapman laments inner conflict between staying and returning to Earth. Ancient Aliens Debunked

Are we descended from ancient aliens? Or, does persistent ancient astronaut meme represent something else?  The History channel produces popular program, Ancient Aliens (AA).  Chris White has produced Ancient Aliens Debunked as a direct rebuttal to various claims made on AA. White finds his work dismissed by citing his Christianity, but cogent arguments force viewers to think again!  AA Debunked presents excellent observations, also wonderful visits to many historic sites such as Easter Island, Giza Pyramids, Puma Punku and Baalbek.  The Corbett Report recently interviewed White and makes great companion to video.  The present writer criticizes only three hour length, possibly, better broken up into volumes?   It's very good video despite length and presentation almost demands verdict:  Ancient Aliens Debunked!

Gary McKinnon Extradition To US Blocked

The Telegraph reports, today, Home Secretary Theresa May blocked extradition of cult hero, Pentagon hacker and scapegoat,  Gary McKinnon.   May becomes rising star, in process, taking a strong stand to regain some of Great Britain's lost sovereignty. McKinnon saw perhaps too much in 2001 on Pentagon computers in weeks following 9/11?  The late night hacker spied on documents about free energy and lists of non-terrestrial ship officers - meaning US Navy space ships!  What else made McKinnon such a high extradition target for years?  The present writer will always wonder? 

Journey To The Hollow Earth

A half hour UFOTV documentary, "Journey To The Hollow Earth," provides good intro into theory our planet may be hollow. Astronomer Edmond Halley and Mathematician Leonhard Euler believed in a Hollow Earth.  Program alerts viewer to International Society of Complete Earth, an organization striving to become a central authoritative source on Hollow Earth theory.  Did you know Smithsonian Institute got its start with artifacts brought back from an expedition President John Quincy Adams supported in 1828 to search for Antarctic opening to the inner Earth? Weather Warfare Explained

James Corbett interviews Michel Chossudovsky, Rosalind Peterson, Michael Murphy and G. Edward Griffin on subject of chemtrails, geoengineering, environmental modification and weather warfare in episode 237 of Corbett Report Radio. Chossudovsky reminds listeners weather warfare employed as far back as Vietnam War, where US turned Ho Chi Minh Trail  to mud and impassable under Operation Popeye.  An excellent history of Weather Warfare, is available, at New World War website. In 1996, Air Force released report:  "Weather as a Force Multiplier:  Owning the Weather in 2025," since cleared to the public, we can only imagine what remains classified? Corbett has it right, we have little idea what weather weapons are available and in use today! Corbett registers surprise in episode at following  Yahoo article not being suppressed, "Could Iran's Enemies Really Be Destroying Its Rain Clouds?" Aqua Purple Aurora Captured Over Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Colin Chatfield captures amazing Aurora today over Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada! Spaceweather.com reports: "'This is from my backyard around 5:00a.m. this morning,' says Chatfield. 'Never have I seen the auroras so bright, especially from within the city. They were astounding, with purple visible to the naked eye .'" Thanks goes to Spaceweather.com for link also for supplying explanation behind this morning's aurora:  "The source of the storm was a knot of south-pointing magnetism from the sun. The knot drifted past Earth, bumping into our own planet's magnetic field. This caused a crack to open in Earth's magnetic defenses. Solar wind poured in to fuel the auroras."

Soyuz Orbits Two Galileo Satellites

Ariane Space announces launch Friday afternoon, French Guiana time, designated VS03 that "... successfully orbited two satellites today for the European Galileo navigation network."

The article reports: "The pair of Galileo satellites was carried side-by-side on a dual-payload dispenser system, with their release performed in opposite directions by a pyrotechnic separation system that released them at the proper orbital insertion point. These spacecraft joined the initial two Galileo spacecraft orbited on Arianespace’s milestone VS01 flight on October 21, 2011 – which marked Soyuz’ introduction at the Spaceport. Together, the four satellites launched by Arianespace will form an operational mini-constellation – creating the minimum number required to allow navigational fixes for validations of the Galileo system...Galileo is a European initiative, with the constellation of navigation spacecraft being developed in a collaborative effort of the European Union and the European Space Agency."

Retro Sci-FI Weekend: 'Killers From Space'

"Killers From Space" (1954) produced and directed by W. Lee Wilder starring Peter Graves and Barbara Bestar, according to Wikipedia, proves itself typically bad yet entertaining fifties sci-fi fare. The plot summary follows:  "Dr. Douglas Martin [Peter Graves] is a scientist working on atomic bomb tests. While collecting aerial data on an Air Force atomic blast at Soledad Flats, his plane crashes. He survives the crash unhurt, except for a strange scar on his chest."

"At the base hospital, he does not remember what happened. He acts so strangely that the authorities bring in the FBI...The FBI agent has followed him, but he escapes until he crashes his car. Back at the hospital, he is given truth serum. He tells a story about being captured by space aliens from Astron Delta and held in their underground base."


"The aliens plan to exterminate all humans with giant insects and reptiles, grown with radiation absorbed from the bomb tests...The FBI agent and the base commander are skeptical of such an incredible story, and keep him confined at the hospital."

"Dr. Martin does some calculations and determines that if he shuts off the power to Soledad Flats for just ten seconds, it will create an overload in the aliens' equipment. So he escapes the hospital and goes to the nearby electrical power plant, where he forces a technician to turn off the power. The alien base is destroyed in a massive explosion, saving the Earth from conquest," communicates well-done summary supplied as caption on You Tube.

Storyline represents predominant 1950s climate, where anything out of the ordinary, brings a person's sanity into question!  The movie may prove of interest as a period piece with pneumatic message tubes at the police station, full page fingerprints for comparison and verification, standard Bell-issue black rotary telephones, a Studebaker Commander (Martin's car), and a Crosley clock/radio on the Martin's bedstand.  You also see an A-bomb dropper B-29 Superfortress and people in open air seating to view nuclear test live with dark glasses as their only protection!

The best special effects are the alien ping-pong eyeballs and very good synching of reptiles with oversized screeching as if they were dinosaurs.  The examples may be more an indication how few effects there are actually!  "Killers From Space", a very politically incorrect title which would never fly as a banner these days, remains for all its faults inexplicably entertaining!  It's below and free!

ORBCOMM Satellite Launched By Falcon 9 Has Fallen To Earth

Universe Today covers deorbit of secondary Space X Falcon 9 payload.  One of the Merlin rocket engines had to be shutdown after a reported "anomaly," resulting in ORBCOMM satellite failing to reach sufficient orbit to remain in space. ORBCOMM implies in press release secondary role in mission and imposed safety check, played role in failure!  You Tube video  recorded anomaly in slo-mo complete with debris and demonic sound effects!

Vasavada makes series sound worthwhile!

DHS Starts Testing Domestic Drones

DHS domestic drones (video) are coming soon to your local skies!  Domestic use of  "surveillance" drones, will likely, take us further into a control matrix nightmare!  Infowars.com informs DHS to begin testing drones at Fort Sill Oklahoma.  The program called "Robotic Aircraft For Public Safety" will employ small drones to keep an eye on Americans in the not-too-distant future.  Above video and Paul Joseph Watson article, "DHS To Test Spy Drones For “Public Safety” Applications," are a must!

Auroras Treat Viewers On Oct 8th, 2012

NASA website reports: "...coronal mass ejection [CME] that erupted from the sun on Oct. 4, 2012 at 11:24 p.m. EDT arrived at Earth on Oct. 8 at 12:30 a.m. EDT, as observed by instruments aboard NASA's Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) spacecraft."  CME caused geomagnetic storms when it reached Earth's magnetosphere, resulting in Auroras. Drone Episode 4: Conclusion

Billing for conclusion of Drone series reads, "The thrilling conclusion of the YOMYOMF Network's sci-fi/action webseries "DR0NE", Directed by ROBERT GLICKERT and starring LANCE REDDICK ("FRINGE") and KENNETH CHOI ("CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER"). Captured by black ops soldiers, the situation looks dire for 237. Is there any hope of escaping and bringing Nissen (Lance Reddick) to justice?" reads You Tube caption. Nissen realizes 237 traced his location and lays in wait in another shoot-em-up episode--very entertaining!  In the final moments, 237 gets reprogrammed to wipe clean prime directives to insure unit follows orders. The final scene shows, however, reprogramming to be overridden, presumably, by upgrade from USB drive provided 237 in prior episode.  Hats off to Lance Reddick and Director Robert Glickert!  This viewer can only hope for a sequel!

Retro Sci-Fi Weekend: 'Day the World Ended'

Day the World Ended (1955) was the fourth film directed by Roger Corman. Rick (Richard Denning) is a heroic scientist who, among others, must face off against a mutant monster (Paul Blaisdell) after an atomic war destroys human civilization. Chet Huntley of NBC, later of The Huntley-Brinkley Report, narrates according to Wikipedia.  Paul Birch steals spotlight in supporting role as Jim Maddison,who prepared for nuclear catastophe by stocking up and chosing to live in a box canyon shielded from radiation.  The story begins after smoke clears with Mike Connors, who is best known as star of popular sixties TV-series "Mannix," billed as "Touch Connors," a reference to his UCLA basketball scholarship days, shows up on Maddison home doorstep.  Maddison displays honest fifties morality by telling daughter Louise, played by Lori Nelson, he can't allow them in because he has only enough provisions for them.  Louise allows Connor's character, Tony Lamont in along with his girl, Ruby, a showgirl played by Adel Jergens, who rose in show business by winning title of  "Miss World's Fairest" at the 1939 New York World's Fair and later named New York's Number One Showgirl. Lamont proves to be a psychopath, who gets dispatched late in movie by Maddison, when Lamont reveals his intent to kill Rick.

Radiation theory in movie, seems quaint, with mutations of a thousand generations the result of one exposure. The victims exhibit different characteristics with each level of exposure. Maddison shares his navy experience with atomic tests with Rick.  The animals suffered mutated skin, extra limbs, horns and a monkey with another eye. Radiation theory has mutants growing stronger with level of exposure, who can only be sustained by radioactive food sources due to transformed constitutions. The mutant monster calls to Louise several times in movie with telepathy.  Louis is finally lured out of the house under mind control and abducted.  Louise escapes to find refuge in fresh water lake, where monster pulls up short and refuses to pursue.  Torrent of fresh rainwater kills mutant who appears to react to water with some fizz as it expires.  Louise expresses sadness at mutant's fate, an odd sentiment but thoroughly B-movie style!  Day the World Ended holds attention throughout and admission is free. Raymond Hatton, who appeared in nearly five hundred movies, in one of his last roles as old-timer Pete.

US Bank Hackers Used Advanced Botnets, Diverse Tools

from chicagotribune.com: The hackers behind the cyber attacks on major U.S. banks have repeatedly disrupted online banking by using sophisticated and diverse tools that point to a carefully coordinated campaign, according to security researchers.

The hackers, believed to be activists in the Middle East, were highly knowledgeable about the defensive equipment used by the banks and likely spent months on reconnaissance, said several researchers interviewed by Reuters, who viewed the assaults as among the strongest and most complex the world has seen to date.

In the past two weeks, customers of top U.S. banks including Bank of America Corp, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Wells Fargo & Co, U.S. Bancorp and PNC Financial Services have reported having trouble accessing their websites, as unusually high traffic volumes appeared to crash or slow down the systems.

No thefts have been tied to hacked sites, but an untold number of customers were not able to pay bills or transfer money from their computers, leaving banks with remediation expenses and customer irritation as the biggest costs.

Michael Rivero, writes concise conspiracy theory that fits, Virtual 9-11 (video version, left)!  Rivero sees virtual false flag on US banks as a promising premise and growing excuse for "our leaders" to declare war on Iran.  Sen. Joseph Lieberman made recent public statement, Iran responsible for cyber attacks, which leads Rivero to suspect a political maneuver in building a case for war!  A Virtual 9-11, according to Rivero, "...gets Wall Street and Washington DC off the hook, because now the financial melt-down is an act of war, rather than the result of decades of Wall Street crime and corruption and the predations of Private Central Banks...Such a cyber false-flag also gives the US Government the excuse to take total control of the internet so that those pesky truth-seeking bloggers don't give the slaves uppity ideas that this is just another war-starting hoax..." It's a plausible scenario that gets corrupt financial institutions, currently, on an express train to insolvency - off the hook!  Rivero believes by exposing a Virtual 9-11, perpetrators will get too nervous to follow through!  Hopefully, present put-up scenario will pass much as the build up for a false flag on 2012 Olympics as a solution to Libor scandal! Present writer can only support Rivero in his attempt to create climate too uncertain for perps of a Virtual 9-11 to succeed!
