The late October 1943 Philadelphia Experiment is a tale most people set aside mentally as incomprehensible. Carlos Allende remains mysterious as the 1955 letter writer to Morris K Jessup, author of "The Case For The UFO." The ex-merchant marine, a self-reported witness to the USS Eldridge's disappearance, seemed to warrant the respect of Office of Naval Research (ONR) officers, who reprinted copies of Jessup's annotated book believed sent by Allende. The annotated copies became known as the infamous "Varo Edition". This "official" interest by naval authorities only served to deepen the mystery and interest surrounding Allende.
Robert Goerman, a writer, knew he had the best shot of solving the mystery, since many Allende letters were postmarked from his hometown, New Kensington, PA. Goerman stumbled upon the answer in search of his daughter who liked to visit the cat at the Allen's house down the street. When Goerman made an offhand reference to his research, his neighbor Harry Allen completed his sentence for him and admitted he's Carl's father. Goerman knew he had the right person, when Carl M. Allen's seaman's certificate was found with the number, Z-416175, annotated in many of the letters. The writer ended up with a mystery-solving article for FATE magazine in 1980, "Alias Carlos Allende". The article was not well-received, since the conclusion provided an Allen not an Alien. Goerman's search almost overshadows the rest of the story with much of it retold in this Hidden Mysteries episode, "The True Story Of The Philadelphia Experiment".
Carl Allen died in 1994 but still the subject of a small town Greeley, CO newspaper article in 1986, "Death Bed Statement of Carlos Allende". Is the time it took to go from deathbed to his actual passing, suggestive of a convincing storyteller? The present writer gets the impression Allen possessed a high IQ, but a mind with little governor. This is "the Carl" the Allen family knew, somone called upon in class to solve a difficult problem but only managing to pass, "a high IQ but not smart," as one brother put it. Allen's picture even seems to hint his brain was overactive and aging faster than his face below the temples.
The 1986 article relates Albert Einstein's "invisibility" experiment under mundane cover of "degaussing" a ship to make it less vulnerable to magnetic mines. Allende relates Einstein's thought on invisibility, "...a precursor to propulsion beyond the speed of light. Invisibility is nothing more than the precondition to a practical utilization of the magnetic field related to the Einstein Tunnel Propulson system". Einstein was working on a starship propulsion system before there was any NASA, according to Allende.
The storyteller also relates Jessup did not die in 1959--a reported suicide--but killed the person sent to end his life and took his identification. Allende spoke with Jessup a couple of years after "his death", a plausible dose of psyop added to the mystery. Allen aka Allende may have pulled off a whopper, but it's still fascinating to attempt to prove, finally, it's just a story--or is it?

impressive auroras as aurora max 2012 nears
Take a brief and beautiful tour of auroras (or aurorae) from around the world, then depart for more pix from other points in the solar system, Saturn (red) and Jupiter (blue). Auroras are building and will reach an aurora max in 2012. First stop, Northern Lights in Iceland are pictured on The Telegraph UK website. The next stop is in Scotland, where Jim Henderson captured exceptional images in, "Awe-inspiring auroras: The psychedelic majesty of the Northern Lights captured in the skies over Aberdeen. The Jovian planets are huge magnets, Jupiter's magnetosphere is 20,000 times greater than the Earth's and UV studies at the University of Arizona go into detail with auroras pictured here. The European Space Agency's Mars Express spacecraft captured pix of Mars aurora here. Our neighbor Venus is, perhaps, unique with little intrinsic magnetic field, but has a "night glow" from the solar wind. You can learn more about how auroras form here. The viewing will only get better as we approach the Solar Max and Aurora Max of 2012.

dulce underground base mystery
Over twenty years ago, the underground base at Dulce, New Mexico was first exposed to public view with The Dulce Book by Branton. The base suspected to lie under the Archuleta Mesa on the Jicarilla Indian reservation, is rumored to be manned by Reptilians, Greysand humans in tense working relationships. Later, in the nineties, Phil Schneider reported his version of a battle in the late seventies, AKA "the Dulce Wars", which broke out with the Greys and resulted in the death of over sixty men here. A wide range of questionable research takes place underground in utmost secrecy at Dulce. The study of auras, dreams, and telepathy to hideous bio-genetic experiments are conducted on the seven levels. Level Six is called "Nightmare Hall" because of the dark nature of the experiments. Cattle mutilations (mutes) were prevalent around Dulce in the mid-seventies and a possible cross-species fetus discovered in an opened cow's womb before it could be retrieved. Gabe Valdez, former New Mexico state patrol officer, related the discovery on a 2009 UFO Hunters episode.
Paul Bennewitz, a businessman who worked near Kirtland Air Force Base, became a UFO researcher after spotting lights over the Manzano underground nuclear storage area near his home. Bennewitz took pictures of saucers at Dulce when flying on business to the Denver area, he claimed also to monitor communications from the underground base. After bringing these claims to authorities attention, Bennewitz became the target of a disinformation campaign, grew increasingly paranoid and finally institutionalized. Bennewitz, who passed away in 2003, is credited with uncovering much of the Dulce story. Michael Salla provides an in-depth research paper on Paul Bennewitz at Exopolitics.
The Dulce book, as much a compilation of writings from Tal Levesque aka Jason Bishop, Val Valerian aka John Grace and John Lear as well as Branton aka Bruce Alan DeWalton, remains the best introduction. A 2009 UFO Hunters episode with Bill Birnes is well done and entertaining. A brief synopsis of the characters involved in the Dulce story, provided by Norio Hayakawa, are available here. Podcasts at the Jerry Pippin website covering the Dulce base are available here. Dulce fascinates like some tragic, horrible car accident where a person cannot seem to look away.

sdo video of solar flare in super hi-def
On February 24, 2011, Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) spacecraft captured magnificent stream of images, at 24 second intervals, to make a nearly flawless 17 second video here. A wave of erupting plasma as seen in high-def from a M3.6 class flare--never looked so good! It's pure eye candy. SDO launched from Cape Canaveral on Feb. 11, 2010 to study solar irradiance, the heliosphere and the solar wind on a mission expected to last over five years.

nazi ufos, antarctica and the battle of los angeles
Clyde Lewis stirred old myths on his Sunday night show, Ground Zero Live, with interview of Douglas Dietrich, a former San Francisco Presidio military librarian, who answered calls for Col. Michael Aquino. Dietrich proved himself, both, articulate and provocative by raising possible links unfamiliar to listeners. The former librarian points to Japanese dirigible tech (pictured) as a likely actor in the 1942 Battle of Los Angeles. Dietrich expressed views on Nazi UFOs, Antarctica and private space programs. Clyde and his guest discussed origins of the term "Black Sun", as derived from a German and Japanese Aryan belief - a Black Hole - lies at the center of every galaxy. The least familiar link made, was perhaps, Operation Argus as another salvo in the secret war against Nazi Flugelrads! Operation Tabarin and Operation High Jump were earlier battles in the secret Antarctic war. You can view more of the guest responding to comments about his take on Roswell here. A highly entertaining, thought-provoking interview that will prick up your ears!

google collected part of kids' social security numbers for art contest
from business insider: Google asked parents to enter the last four digits of their children's Social Security Numbers, as well as their city of birth and age, as a condition to enter a Google-sponsored art contest. As movie director Bob Bowdon points out on the Huffington Post, Google could easily have guessed the remainder of the numbers from the other information they collected. This data could be extremely valuable to marketers. Some of the people who tipped Bowdon off about the story sent an email to the FTC on February 17 wondering if it was even legal to solicit kids' Social Security Numbers. The next day, Google updated its consent form, removing the space for the SSNs. There's no evidence that Google actually did anything with the information, but it's certainly a weird set of data to collect for a kids' contest. Google has come under fire several times for having a seemingly cavalier attitude toward privacy, and this doesn't help matters.

solar storms: risks of rising solar activity
A burst of solar activity this past week generated, also, dire warnings such as, "Catastrophe Looming? The Risks of Rising Solar Activity," at SPACE.com. The present writer is left with the impression of covert preparation for tragedy, an inculcation of sorts, in such warnings. "'Even if this is a really lackluster solar cycle — as it looks like it's shaping up to be — that doesn't mean you can't have a real bell-ringing event,' said Joe Gurman of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, project scientist for the agency's sun-studying STEREO spacecraft." An element of possibility is planted in a reader's mind, even while acknowledged there's a lack of any clear threat.
Is it just recognition of a remote chance, as the Solar Max of 2012 is anticipated to be the largest in years, or something more? The average citizen would never question the official explanation for a knock-out punch of the nation's power grid. It would likely never come to mind to ask, whether the source was a solar flare, coronal mass ejection or an EMP event from a weapon? Is it an ingenious coupling of natural and artificial sources in a predictive program to prepare us for tragedy in the making!

real moon hidden in plain sight?
Jeremey Mauney summarizes doubts about our moon satellite in a nicely written post, "Lunar Lights On A Hollow Moon?". Mauney reports, between the years 1540 and 1967 over 540+ lights called Transient Lunar Phenomena (TLP), were recorded on the lunar surface. TLPs seem to resist explanation even to this day. The 18th Century astronomer Sir William Hershel believed lunar cities existed in the moon's craters. Mauney includes the "bell-ringing" events of Apollo 12 and the crashing of the last Saturn stage during Apollo 13 flight (pictured). "In a March 1970 article of Popular Science titled 'How APOLLO 13 Will Probe the Moon's Interior', former SS Nazi and director of NASA, Dr. Wernher von Braun wrote, concerning the crash of Apollo 12's 2.5 ton Lunar Module into the lunar surface; 'The astounding result of that crash: The moon rang like a bell for nearly and hour, indicating some strange and unearthly underground structure.'"
On the next flight, "despite technical malfunctions preventing the Apollo 13 crew from landing on the moon, they still managed to carry out the task of crashing the Saturn V third stage rocket (S-IV B) into it. This time the moon rang out for over 3 hours!"
Mauney carefully notes recent studies of the Apollo-era data have concluded the Moon, "...has an 'Earth-like core' made up of mostly mantle with a solid inner core surrounded by a fluid outer core". The undeterred author cites the Moon's gravitational anomalies that suggest cavities and the recent remarks of Mark Robinson, an Arizona State researcher on new evidence suggesting a network of tunnels under the lunar surface. "They could be entrances to a geologic wonderland... The tunnels offer a perfect radiation shield and a very benign thermal environment..."
Mauney relates his visual impression of the Moon, "I can't help but notice how similar our moon looks in comparison to a metal-plated ball covered in dust that's been sprinkled with water. Not much variation of crater depth - as if something below the dusty surface is preventing much impact damage to the inner-exterior & interior." It does seem counter to say globes with large mountain ranges?
The author believes, "it's becoming increasingly obvious that someone doesn't want us to know the whole truth." Mauney leaves the subject with the observations we haven't returned to the Moon in forty years, and at the very least, the Earth is visited by extraterrestrials. The author includes links to brief interview videos of Gordon Cooper, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. The Cooper interview impresses as extremely authentic and can be viewed on You Tube here. What is really up there and will we ever know?

wilhelm reich: quack or threat?
Why was there a heavy-handed attempt to censor the work of Wilhelm Reich? The FDA dismissed Reich's idea of a life force or Orgone as quackery. Was the FDA protecting the public by destroying all references to Orgone? Reich remains a significant historical figure, once a student of Sigmund Freud, and himself, a noted psychoanalyst. Reich's work in biophysics and Orgone, however, "...has been stricken from the historical record".
Reich believed Orgone, an omnipresent energy similar to ether, to be the biophysical basis of Freud's libido. Orgone is visible to the naked eye, according to Reich, blue in color and responsible for the color of the sky, formation of galaxies and human emotional health. Neurosis, according to Reich, is the obstruction of this energy underlying a character armor that eventually becomes seated in the body to ward off the emotions of others and undesirable emotions from within.
In 1940, Reich constructed his first Orgone accumulator, "... a six-sided box constructed of alternating layers of organic materials (to attract the energy) and metallic materials (to radiate the energy toward the center of the box). Patients would sit inside the accumulator and absorb orgone energy through their skin and lungs. The accumulator had a healthy effect on blood and body tissue by improving the flow of life-energy and by releasing energy-blocks." Orgone accumulators caught the attention of the Beat generation. William S.Burroughs was a proponent of the research and treated heroin withdrawal with it. Jack Kerouac included a passage about an Orgone accumulator in his book, On The Road, as a sexual stimulant.
Reich believed a depletion of Orgone energy led to cancer. By replenishing the energy, a possible cure was suggested. Reich became a target alongside others who proposed alternative cures. A negative press brought the Orgone accumulator to the FDA's attention and eventually led to Reich's imprisonment. In 1952, an unannounced inspection at Reich's Orgonon research facility in Maine led to an investigation. An injunction was issued by 1954 against interstate transport of the devices. A violation of this ruling led to a 1956 trial, where Reich was sentenced to a year and a day. Just days before Reich was to receive a parole hearing, he passed away from heart failure on November 3, 1957.
An outgrowth of Orgone research was the Cloudbuster (pictured) that enjoyed, at least, anecdotal success. Maine farmers enlisted Reich's aid, when drought threatened their blueberry crop in this 1953 story. The last book written by Wilhelm Reich, Contact With Space, describes an ongoing siege with UFOs with a last chapter in the desert around Tucson, AZ in 1955. The Cloudbuster became a space gun when radium was added, converting positive Orgone energy to Deadly Orgone (DOR). It was a two front battle against both desert and UFOs. It's reported in a recent Tucson Citizen article, Reich was able to make the UFOs disappear and facilitate rain in an area without any for five years.
On August 23, 1956, over six tons of Reich's books, journals and papers were incinerated in New York City by court order in one of the largest and most egregious cases of censorship. Was it a sign of the times, a kneejerk reaction to Reich's past communist leanings? Alternatively, was Reich a perceived threat by cancer doctors?
Please enjoy a tribute to Wilhelm Reich as seen through the eyes of his son Peter in this 1985 video with Donald Sutherland and song by Kate Bush.

hercolubus, nibiru, nemesis, planet x or tyche
A red or brown dwarf--or perhaps--just a gas giant four times the size of Jupiter may lie beyond the heliosphere in the Oort Cloud at the outer reaches of our solar system. The mystery sphere remains a story that refuses to die, this week its name is Tyche! Nancy Atkinson writes dismissively in a Universe Today article, whether the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer(WISE) already captured raw data that may determine the existence of a new planet. Atkinson criticizes The Independent article for suggesting a possible find. The article seems to simply indulge, however, the enthusiasm of professors John Matese and Daniel Whitmire, who have hypothesized about the existence of Tyche for many years. Matese and Whitmire believe the mathematics to be irrefutable. You can read their latest paper, "Persistent evidence for a jovian mass solar companion in the Oort cloud," for the statistical arguments.
The Louisiana at Lafayette astrophysicists dubbed their mystery sphere Tyche, the good sister of goddess Nemesis. Nemesis was a name suggested to help explain mass extinction events on Earth. You can read about the Nemesis Theory here. You can also view a You Tube video, "Scientists Getting Wise about Nemesis: Invisible Star Shooting Comets at Earth".
Nibiru is the name popularized by Zecharia Sitchin's work: The 12th Planet and refers to the winged or horned disc (pictured). Planet X is a label used to refer to many unknown bodies and first used in theorizing about the existence of Planets beyond Neptune. Hercolubus or red planet is a name given to the mystery sphere in a book by V M Rabolu. It seems regardless of the name, you have to ask, "where there's smoke, there's fire"? There is something dark, lurking at the outer edges of our solar system!

san bruno "gas explosion": rate advocate paid with life?
You won't read about it in the mainstream media! Sandra Hart writes an "explosive" article at Henry Makow's website, "Consumer Advocate Target of San Bruno 'Explosion?'" You may have read who died near the blast's epicenter on September 9, 2010, a mother and her 13 year old daughter? What you didn't learn was the woman's profession and her efforts to oppose an unjustified rate hike. Jacqueline Greig worked for the California Public Utilities Commission as a lead analyst in their natural gas section of Division of Rate Payers (DRA). Greig's job was to defend the consumer from paying exorbitant rates for their natural gas. Hart asks the unthinkable in her article:
"What are the odds that Jacqueline Grieg, a whistle blower advocating for customers of PG&E, was at home in San Bruno at the epicenter of the "explosion" and died that day, along with her 13 year old daughter. She had previously exposed PG&E for proposing a cost for pipeline upgrades at a rate increase of $4.2 billion, which her research revealed was exaggerated by $3.2 billion. What are the odds of her house being "ground zero" for that blast?"
What are the odds? Yet, one more keen observation dovetails to create a stench of something rotten! The story about a picture of an ordinance loaded F-18 (highly unusual to see an armed military plane in domestic airspace) flying a path from San Jose to San Bruno just hours before "the explosion". The picture of the bomb-carrying mystery plane can still be viewed above and here. There were no shortage of video witnesses on You Tube, reporting in matter of fact tones about a "plane crash".
Hart accepts the plausibility of David Grissom's blog entry here: "So why would elements of military become the 'hit men' to protect the profits of a predatory company like PG&E? Well, Ike warned us about "the military industrial complex, 'didn't he?'" Hart's suggestions seem so unthinkable, but remain plausible. There were businessmen present at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Ne on the morning of 9-11. The San Bruno event may be little more than business as usual!

man v machine: final solutions company destroying humans again
despite reports, ibm programmers now backpedaling & saying that 'watson' did not crash during 'jeopardy!' 4hr taping...
from john c. dvorak of no agenda: When Watson failed to answer the Final Jeopardy! question correctly during the Tuesday Jeopardy! game show, yet still won the round, I realized my Monday column, predicting that the humans would be victorious, was wrong. While there is no doubt that this machine is a fantastic accomplishment, the Jeopardy! competition is skewed in favor of the Watson's fast buzzer clicker. I'd like to see a show consisting of nothing but Final Jeopardy! Q&A. You could clearly see the two men pushing their buzzers once the question was read, but the giant computer was getting the question electronically and could react faster than the other contestants. I mean, it's not as if the two men don't know the answer to these weird questions. So at the end of the last round tonight, you can be certain that the computer will have amassed a huge amount of money, unless they do something very strange like ask the questions in Pig Latin. Meanwhile, I cry foul because this contest gives an edge to the machine by making response time a key element. People versus machine, insofar as response time is concerned, is unfair. Make the machine have to read the question with a camera, and then it would be fair. Anyway, what IBM has done is quite remarkable. I now have no doubt that the machine will be the winner. My assertion on Monday was wrong, and I know why it was wrong. It's rigged.

aurora alert: year's largest solar flare
The largest so far this year, a category M6.6 solar flare is earthbound. A skywatcher alert has been issued for auroras in possibly lower as well as higher latitudes. Experts agree a cloud of radiation from a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), will hit the Earth's magnetic field on or about Feb. 15th. The source of the activity is sunspot 1158, which is expected to grow. Many thanks go to Oystein Lunde Ingvaldsen for his wonderful images like the one pictured. The captured Northern Lights image is from the present buffeting of the magnetosphere above Bo, a town in Norway. They are a wonder to behold!. You can enjoy more aurora pictures from another Norwegian, Bjorn Jorgensen, here.

algeria shuts down the net as protest mounts
There are reports out of Algeria, the government has deleted internet and facebook accounts across the country, according to an article at The Telegraph. "'The government doesn't want us forming crowds through the internet,' said Rachid Salem, of Co-ordination for Democratic Change in Algeria." The article reports 30,000 riot police on the streets of Algiers alone! Our concern is the inevitable shutdown here in the United States, as the economy is taken down with no sign our government intends to mitigate a collapse. Protest and civil unrest seems inevitable. A blog entry provides observations on recent shutdown in Egypt and a simple solution to help you stay connected here.
wikileaks confirms billy meier on peak oil
The Billy Meier contactee story surfaced, again, in the press this past week. Cables provided by Wikileaks, supposedly, confirm Billy's past warnings about peak oil. An Examiner.com article by Mike Albee reports, "..cables contain a warning from a senior Saudi oil executive that the countries oil reserves may be vastly overstated". Billy Meier has issued many prophetic statements and predictions, over the years. Michael Horn, a representative for Meier in the United States, reminds the public in this article that Meier made similar statements back in 2008. The present writer is more impressed by Meier's concern about disturbances of tectonic plates deep within the Earth. "Meier warned decades ago that there shouldn't be any more oil drilling - especially offshore - since it further destabilizes the tectonic plates." The Peak Oil concept fails to impress since vested interests have pushed the idea for the past decade--even if true! The past week's Wikileaks episode seems clearly a psyop to discredit all discussion, an attempt to make everyone jaded and weary of a topic when it's so plainly tortured. This discourages asking the real queston, cuo bono, i.e., who benefits? The present writer will venture to predict higher high gas prices this summer!

x-37b: what's behind closed payload doors?
What kind of payload does the unmanned X-37B carry? There's been much controversy, including an allegation the mini-shuttle is designed to attack satellites! A Space Travel article by Morris Jones asks good questions about the mysterious craft in its run up to a second flight, "Opening Up The X37B". The payload bay is only 2.1 meters by 1.2 meters. What can it carry? The article suggests the bay probably includes a solar panel, antenna boom, cameras, but have doubts about the necessity of a telescope. Laser-based communications systems are ideas tossed out of unusual items that may be behind those payload doors? Jones concludes his suggestions could be wrong but nobody will know what is really onboard until more is revealed! The program is too mysterious! Russia and China have suspicions shared in a recent Danger Room article, "Secret US Space Plane May Be Too Mysterious". Will an unsuspecting mankind fall victim to a secretly dominated near Earth space?

noctilucent clouds: larger, brighter and lower in atmosphere
Scientists study noctilucent clouds because, it's believed, these polar mesopheric clouds are highly sensitive to changes in the atmosphere. "They are most commonly observed in the summer months at latitudes between 50° and 70° north and south of the equator." A Universe Today article shows recent pictures from space of the mysterious clouds. "They used to be considered rare, but now the clouds are growing brighter, are seen more frequently, are visible at lower and lower latitudes than ever before, and... they are now even appearing during the day." The article suggests this is evidence the upper atmosphere is getter colder and more humid, a possible cause are greenhouse gases. Noctilucent clouds are composed of ice and reflect solar radiation much longer than clouds at lower altitudes, making them visible well into twilight--enjoy the view!

1954 eisenhower alien psyop: fastforward to a new chapter?
Michael Salla, of exopolitics.org, provides a well-written paper about President Eisenhower's alien encounter on February 20-21, 1954 at Edwards AFB (formerly Muroc Airfield). Salla corroborates whistleblower accounts, there were indeed two meetings with extraterrestrials. A first meeting with humanoids did not result in an agreement. The humanoid aliens were unreceptive to a technology transfer, instead they offered to assist our spiritual development on the condition we disarm our nuclear weapons. "These terms were met with extreme suspicion, especially the major condition of nuclear disarmament." Corroborating sources are an economic adviser, a Roman Catholic bishop, a Hearst newspaperman and a community leader with an occult background.
Additonal whistleblowers are cited in Salla's paper: William Cooper, John Lear, Phil Schneider, navy commander Charles L Suggs Sr., Robert Dean, Dr. Michael Wolf, serviceman Don Phillips and Lt. Col Philip J Corso--all with close government ties at some point in their lives. The 1954 Grenada Treaty resulted from a second meeting at Holloman AFB near Alamogordo, NM with the grey aliens. Schneider shared his view of the treaty, "...the aliens involved could take a few cows and test their implanting techniques on a few human beings, but that they had to give details about the people involved".
Bill Cooper's explanation of the treaty included keeping the alien presence secret and an agreement to refrain from interfering in the other party's affairs. "They could abduct humans on a limited and periodic basis for the purpose of medical examination and monitoring of our development, with the stipulation that the humans would not be harmed, would be returned to their point of abduction, would have no memory of the event, and that the alien nation would furnish Majesty Twelve (MJ-12) with a list of all human contacts and abductees on a regularly scheduled basis."
Cooper, Lear and Corso are all referenced by Salla in support of a view the aliens were untrustworthy and failed to abide by the treaty. Schneider is quoted, “the aliens altered the bargain until they decided they wouldn't abide by it at all”. Salla seems to suggest, as if a script, the friendly aliens of the fifties are replaced in the sixties by the grey aliens who are "distant and without emotions".
A Hollywood script would be hard pressed to match such a storyline! Humankind, in its fall from grace, declines spiritual growth and peace in favor of a Faustian bargain for technological advancement at the cost of fellow human beings' lives.
In a quantum leap--fastforward fifty years--in the psyop, great granddaughter Laura Eisenhower joins the whistleblower ranks. Eisenhower exposes attempts by love interest Agent X, her handler, to enlist her in a secret Mars space colony project. “Agent X revealed that his group had identified her through her bloodline, as the matrilineal great-granddaughter of 34th U.S. President Eisenhower (and the Allied Commander who defeated Hitler). As well, they knew her as a unique reincarnation of Magdalene/Sophia/Isis (ever since she was young, many psychics have recognized her)."
Alfred Lambremont Webre, author and futurist, Yale graduate and Stanford Research Institute fellow, supports Eisenhower in her choice of Earth over the survival colony of Mars. The present writer would like to believe--but it's too neat! An alarm goes off inside to instinctively alert that these may very well be pied pipers leading us down a path? Gary Bekkum offers his view of the Eisenhower misadventure in an article here, which provides in depth analysis. It seems a veritable cottage industry?

1908 tunguska blast: 'the biggest inter-dimensional cross rip'?
The Tunguska blast over Siberia remains the largest recent explosion much more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. The blast epicenter was near the Stony Tunguska River and flattened 60,000,000 trees over a 200 sq. km area. Resident Semen Semenov's eyewitness account at Vanavara the nearest settlement 40 miles to the south, remains fascinating to read:
"At breakfast time I was sitting by the house at Vanavara factory facing North. [...] I suddenly saw that directly to the North, over Onkoul's Tunguska road, the sky split in two and fire appeared high and wide over the forest. The split in the sky grew larger, and the entire Northern side was covered with fire. At that moment I became so hot that I couldn't bear it, as if my shirt was on fire; from the northern side, where the fire was, came strong heat."
"I wanted to tear off my shirt and throw it down, but then the sky shut closed, and a strong thump sounded, and I was thrown a few yards. I lost my senses for a moment, but then my wife ran out and led me to the house. After that such noise came, as if rocks were falling or cannons were firing, the earth shook, and when I was on the ground, I pressed my head down, fearing rocks would smash it. When the sky opened up, hot wind raced between the houses, like from cannons, which left traces in the ground like pathways, and it damaged some crops. Later we saw that many windows were shattered…"
The Tunguska event registered at seismic stations in Europe and sent a pulse of air pressure around the world twice, picked up by British meteorologists. The causes for the explosion remain varied and controversial. Radiation and mutations in the area provide another source for differing explanations such as ball lightning. The late Russian sci-fi writer, Alexander Kazantsev, suggested after Hiroshima, the Siberian Explosion was due to an atomic-powered spacecraft mishap. Some of the stronger competing theories are attributed to either a comet or meteor.
A focus on natural or terrestrial causes has surged, recently. There is the electric universe interpretation of the 1908 event. "Curiously, reports of an unusually bright night sky began the night before the Tunguska event and continued for several days afterwards". Andrei Ol'Khovatov, a Russian physicist, is intrigued by the event, "..agrees that the impact theory leaves too many unanswered questions. He points out, for example, that witnesses reported strange weather and increased seismic activity in the area for days beforehand." Ol'Khovatov's website is filled with more recent research of interest.
In 2009, Italian researchers speculated Lake Cheko located just 5 miles from the blast epicenter, may be a possible impact crater and can be viewed here. Arthur C Clarke's Mysterous World, 1980 series, "The Great Siberian Explosion," provides an excellent account. The present writer first learned of the event from Ray Stantz, in Ghostbusters, "The biggest inter-dimensional cross rip since the Tunguska Blast..".

generation net: do youngsters prefer virtual lives to real world?
from daily mail: Children are often happier with their online lives than they are with reality, a survey has revealed. They say they can be exactly who they want to be – and as soon as something is no longer fun they can simply hit the quit button.
The study also shows that, despite concerns about online safety, one in eight young people is in contact with strangers when on the web and often lies about their appearance, age and background. Researchers for children's charity Kidscape assessed the online activities of 2,300 11- to 18-year-olds from across the UK and found that 45% said they were sometimes happier online than in their real lives.
The report – "Virtual Lives: It is more than a game, it is your life" – lays bare the attitudes of children today to the internet and includes revealing insights into how they feel when they are on the web.
One told researchers: "It’s easier to be who you want to be, because nobody knows you and if you don’t like the situation you can just exit and it is over." Another said: "You can say anything online. You can talk to people that you don’t normally speak to and you can edit your pictures so you look better. It is as if you are a completely different person."

nebraska's 1884 roswell
Ranchers John Ellis and Alf Williamson witnessed the crash of an "aerolite" on June 6th, 1884 northwest of Max, NE in Dundy county. In the state's southwest corner, the county seat is Benkelman. A 2007 Daily Nebraskan article, "Nebraska may have had its own Roswell in 1884," recounts the cowboys' eyewitness accounts of this relatively obscure sighting. The two men thought, at first, it was a meteorite, but changed their minds when they saw the craft leave a swath, 20 x 80 feet, of molten sand. A fascinated Williamson could not turn himself away and suffered burns to his face. The object, estimated to be 60 ft long and cylindrically shaped with a 12 ft radius, left behind debris described as metal cogs and propeller screws. John Buder, a MUFON of Nebraska researcher, believes the incident spawned many that followed, including the 1897 Aurora, Texas airship mystery. "It was the second UFO crash Buder knows of, and the first to be recorded in newspapers of the time. But once the story came out, it started a worldwide wave of similar stories.."
A 2009 article, "Nebraska UFOs: Is There Anybody Out There?" offers UFO researcher Dale Bacon's perspective. Bacon recounts the incident, also, as an entertaining storyteller on YouTube, the Benkelman Nebraska, UFO Mystery. The researcher employs the historically accurate "aerolite", a reminder the term Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was only first suggested in 1952 by Edward Ruppelt, head of Project Bluebook. Details may vary as Bacon describes the object at 12 x 6 feet. There are no surviving metal objects to corroborate the story, as a newspaper reported, after a hard rain two days later at a time when the object was still too hot, melted the craft, "like a spoonful of salt in water". This news account hurt the story's credibility at the time.
John Hubert (pictured), a High Plains Historical Society director, inspects a green glob of glass that may have been created in the 1884 crash as reported in a 2009 McCook Daily Gazette article. Robert Golka, a MIT scientist, is also interested and scours the country for samples, he observes "...green glass would correspond with the high temperatives involved". It's noted green glass is also produced from atomic blasts. The Benkelman UFO incident still has standing as a relatively credible though obscure story. Buder believes, " ...there's only a few dozen people in Nebraska who even know about it".

dhs seizes more domains; this time for linking to copyrighted material
from eric blair: Apparently the Department of Homeland Security is now authorized to rewrite and enforce copyright infringement laws. In a stunning precedent, the recent round of domain seizures to shut down websites that allowed illegal streaming of the Super Bowl, also included a few other websites that were seized simply for linking to infringing content. Mike Masnick of TechDirt, who received and published a DHS seizure affidavit, had this to say in a must-read article:
Despite the DHS’s obvious distortion of the law, we are rapidly approaching a day where information can no longer flow freely on the Internet. We better wake up and share these stories with everyone we know, because tyranny is fast approaching. These words written above belong to nobody but the open-source, free Internet. Share and re-post at will.
flashback: govt seizes domains alleged to infringe copyright
...the affidavit itself is chock full of legal and technical errors, compounded by assertions-as-facts that seem to have little basis in reality... The biggest problem is that Homeland Security seems to suggest — without a hint of doubt — that merely linking to infringing content is criminal copyright infringement.Additionally, this type of precedent would seem to massively change the Internet as we know it. What’s next, seizing websites that link to those affiliate sites, like Facebook, Google, or Twitter? Well, that’s the exact question Masnick investigated in his follow-up article, "Homeland Security Tries & Fails To Explain Why Seized Domains Are Different From Google"...

unmanned x-47b: rise of the machines
A completely pre-programmed unmanned plane is more than just a drone, it's an Unmanned Combat Air System (UCAS). The X-47B went on its maiden flight and is reputed to refuel in air and land on aircraft carriers. Is it connected to Skynet? The present writer hasn't felt this chill since first seeing a cruise missile flying at treetop levels, decades ago! Is it instinctive to sense the threat posed by hard metal against mortal flesh? Mail Online, in "Rise of the machines: Maiden Flight of US Navy bat-winged robot stealth bomber that has no need for human pilot," makes it seem humanity may be riding into the sunset? "Slightly smaller than the B2 stealth bomber, the X-47B carries laser-guided bombs and can fly faster than 500 miles per hour at 40,000 feet," informs the Daily Mail. A video follows the article where the UCAS takes off and lands flawlessly. Tests will be completed by late 2011 for the first X-47B, followed closely by testing of a second UCAS.

get internet access when your government shuts it down
(except, of course, if the power goes out)
from pcworld: These days, no popular movement goes without an Internet presence of some kind, whether it's organizing on Facebook or spreading the word through Twitter. And as we've seen in Egypt, that means that your Internet connection can be the first to go. Whether you're trying to check in with your family, contact your friends, or simply spread the word, here are a few ways to build some basic network connectivity when you can't rely on your cellular or landline Internet connections.

space elevator: an idea whose time has arrived
Has the advent of carbon nanotubes delivered a space elevator into the realm of reality? Momentum is mounting for research on a 22,000 mile elevator ride. The cost of getting into space, would fall below $100 per pound. Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, father of theoretical rocketry, inspired by the new Eiffel Tower while teaching in Paris, first conceived of a Space elevator in the 1890s. Arthur C Clarke helped popularize the idea in his seventies sci-fi novel, "The Fountains of Paradise". Clarke sees a present obstacle to making a space elevator practical in an interview here: space debris. NOVA provides an excellent video on the Space elevator here. There are forward-thinking artists who are creating a new genre of Space elevator music, it's something for the long ride.

phobos mystery
Why does Martian Moon Phobos generate intense interest? In 1959, Russian Samuilovich Shklovsky, an astronomer, suggested Phobos may be artificial, since he concluded the moon's orbit was decaying and could only be due to a very low density, possibly, even hollow. Buzz Aldrin, former astronaut, touted Phobos to President Obama as key to permanent space settlement. Aldrin also stirred interest with comments about the Phobos monolith. Richard C. Hoagland declares Phobos an artificial satellite that orbits three times a day around Mars just 4,000 miles above the surface. The orbit of Phobos is lower than any other moon in the solar system. Hoagland views grooves detected on Phobos as an object coming apart at the seams due to the pull of gravity.
The fate of the Russian Phobos 2 satellite probe is most astonishing, "the last transmission from Phobos 2 was a photograph of a gigantic cylindrical spaceship -- a huge, approx. 20km long, 1.5km diameter cigar-shaped 'mothership', that was photographed on 25 March 1989 hanging or parked next to the Martian moon Phobos by the Soviet unmanned sonde Phobos 2. After that last frame was radio-transmitted back to Earth, the probe mysteriously disappeared; according to the Russians it was destroyed - possibly knocked out with an energy pulse beam." A You Tube video covers the story of Phobos 1 and 2 here.

secret war over iraq stargate
Is there a Stargate in Iraq as theorized by many as the real motivation to occupy Iraq? Is it located at the ancient fortress of Qalaat-e-Julundi and rumored to be protected by giant scorpions or at the Dark Ziggurat of Enzu, both, in the Little Zab River Valley? Or, is it near Baghdad at the Sumerian Ziggurat of Kurigalzu? Or, is it in an underground base north of Tikrit built by aliens given sanctuary by Saddam Hussein after their crash in 1998? Is there a secret race to gain control over a potential stargate (pictured) in anticipation of the return of Nibiru? Michael Salla published before the 2003 war in Iraq, "An Exopolitical Perspective on the Preemptive War Against Iraq," writes there is a stargate, possibly, in southern Iraq at Uruk. The war is a cover for competing clandestine parties who seek control over ancient ET tech in Salla's view. This extraterrestrial view has traction in some circles. William Henry is another writer, who helped popularize idea, the Iraq war is about ancient tech and return of Nibiru. Did you think the war was only about oil? Some writers believe the war's motivations reside deeper in our distant past.

kevin mitnick: phone phreak, social engineer
Kevin Mitnick gained notoriety, following his arrest in early 1995 after a nationwide pursuit. People are familiar with Mitnick as a computer hacker, who gained unauthorized entry into networks at Sun Microsystems, Nokia, NEC, Fujitsu Siemens among others. In 1982, Mitnick first received national attention for breaking into NORAD computers, which helped inspire the 1983 film "WarGames" The former hacker, turned computer security consultant, however, also had a career as a phone phreak and plied his social engineering skills. Phone phreaking was in fact Mitnick's first fascination, it's the act of gaining unauthorized access to a telecom network. Blue boxes were often used to gain access. "Blue boxes use a 2600hz tone to size control of telephone switches...The caller may then access special switch functions, with the usual purpose of making free long distance phone calls, using the tones provided by the Blue Box."Mitnick alleges Jobs and Wozniak of Apple fame used to make the boxes.
Less familiar to the public, Kevin would supplement his technical skills by engaging in a little social engineering to dupe unwitting targets out of passwords or other useful information. Mitnick is credited with popularizing this technique. While having gone legit, Mitnick remains a star in the hacking community. Mitnick's pure compulsive love for the pursuit of unauthorized network access and his subsequent prosecution, are possibly the reasons for his cult status. You can get to know his saga better in a video, "Freedom Downtime - the Story of Kevin Mitnick" You can read Mitnick's tale for free in a co-authored book, "The Art of Deception". A CNBC interview of Kevin is available here. It's still as fascinating a story as ever about one of the world's most famous hackers!
