Israeli's Drone Dominance

Israel's dominance of drone industry dates back decades, first country to make widespread use of surveillance drones in 1982 invasion of Lebanon.  Jefferson Morley writes in Salon article, "Israeli's Drone Dominance," Israel creates subsidiaries of state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries to produce drones in client countries to increase sales.  Stark Aerospace of Mississippi was set up in 2006 by Israel inside United States. "Stark...is perhaps the only foreign-owned company with FAA permission to fly a drone in U.S. airspace," writes Morley, and by 2007, "Stark  'inaugurated its first production outfit, which makes Hunter unmanned vehicles that it sells through Northrop Grumman. In fact, the U.S. armed forces have been using [Israeli-made] Hunter drones since the early 1990s.'”  Morley reveals, also, US dependence on Israel for domestic surveillance, "Not surprisingly one of the first uses of drones by the Department of Homeland Security was to monitor the U.S.-Mexico border, where it now flies Israeli-made Hermes 450 drones." Wow!

Secret Sky Experiments: Chemtrails Conspiracy Exposed

A half hour documentary, "Secret Sky Experiments: Chemtrails Conspiracy Exposed," makes astute observations. A worrisome comment made in film that children under 10 believe the sky is normal!  "Since 2002, we observe clouds with shapes and colors previously unknown," according to source in video! The cirrus clouds observed most often in today's sky were not listed in published cloudscapes prior to 2000! Wow! The only solace is feeling large areas are sprayed indiscriminately over globe, we're all potential victims!  Information provided from You Tube description of documentary follows:

Drones fly through privacy law loophole

from ap-perspective.blogspot.com: Australian Privacy Commissioner Timothy Pilgrim has warned it may be impossible to use Australia's privacy laws to prevent someone from being filmed secretly in their own home by a drone.

He says he is confident the Federal Privacy Act would control the actions of government agencies or businesses operating a drone for surveillance. However, Commissioner Pilgrim has told Radio National's Background Briefing program the act does not apply to individuals.

"Perhaps one of your neighbours buys one of these things and starts flying it around your local street," he said. "What I am not sure about is whether we have sufficient laws to cover the activities of those individuals."

"For example the Federal Privacy Act doesn't cover the activities of individuals and so in the context of the use of drones, the Act I administer wouldn't come into play."

Commissioner Pilgrim has called on governments to review their privacy and surveillance legislation to ensure it covers the use of drone technology.

He says there are inconsistencies between state and territory surveillance legislation that might apply to the remote-controlled technology.

Currently in Australia no formal qualifications are required to fly a drone, providing it is being used recreationally. Commercial operators must be certified.

In Australia there are just 24 CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) certified operators of UAVs and another 10 currently in the process of making applications and being assessed. Unless given special approval, all remotely piloted aircraft must be flown:

• below 400 feet;
• within line of sight of the operator;
• in clear weather conditions; and
• only above unpopulated areas.

CASA spokesman Peter Gibson says new guidelines will direct drone pilots to their responsibilities under various state and federal laws.

"In the guidance material we're about to publish, for example, there is a section on privacy and we refer operators to the Privacy Act and we say to them, you need to be aware of the implications of your operations on the Privacy Act and the privacy of individuals," Mr Gibson said.

The new guidance material will be released to the aviation industry for comment within weeks, possibly even days, Mr Gibson said.

He says CASA's guidance covers "everything from flying training, operations, maintenance, continuing airworthiness – all the issues that operators and controllers of remotely piloted aircraft need to understand and follow to make sure they are maintaining the safety standards we expect".

CASA is also working on approving a world-first trial proposed by Surf Life Saving Australia that would see drones being deployed on surveillance missions, searching for swimmers in distress.

If the trial is successful, the organisation wants to use drones more widely to patrol remote and secluded beaches. It has tested drones equipped with inflatable life buoys that can be dropped near swimmers who are struggling, as well as drones that can sound a siren if sharks or other dangers are spotted.

Robo-bin Arrives

You may pay to take out trash sooner than you think! The Dutch have 6,000 robo-bins rolled out in the Netherlands.   In article, "Dutch unleash intelligent robot bins: No ID, no rubbish," at The Register, here's where oligarchs really get their rise on, "...green think tank Environmental Resource Management has calculated that just one of the cities involved (Groningen) saved itself £72,000 in the first year of deployment, and reduced its carbon footprint by 18 per cent...." A case of Robo Cop meets dumpster the Netherlands is setting precedent for rest of the world.   We will all march out our doors to a sight in the near future:.

"The robo-bins have an RFID reader in the lid, and will only open when presented with some ID. The quantity of rubbish is then used to calculate the customer's bill, but things going into the recycling pile are free - so the scheme drives recycling. The bins also know how much rubbish has been dumped, so they use their embedded phone to call up a truck over Vodafone's GPRS network when they're full, reducing the distance trucks have to drive."

9/11 Memorial on Mars

Universe Today informs cable shields on both Spirit and Opportunity rovers, were made from World Trade Center recycled aluminum. Excerpt below reveals how turn of events made 9/11 Memorial on Mars possible:

"In September of 2001 workers at Honeybee Robotics in lower Manhattan were busy preparing the Rock Abrasion Tools that the twin rovers Spirit and Opportunity would each be equipped with, specialized instruments that would allow scientists to study the interiors of Martian rocks. After the World Trade Center attacks occurred, the company wanted a way to memorialize those who had lost their lives. Through what was undoubtedly some incredibly skillful use of contacts, Honeybee founder and MER science team member Stephen Gorevan – on a suggestion by JPL engineer Steve Kondos and with help from the NYC mayor’s office and rover mission leader Steve Squyres – was able to procure two pieces of aluminum from the tower debris.

These were fashioned into cylindrical cable shields by a contracted metal shop in Round Rock, Texas, and had American flags adhered to each by Honeybee engineer Tom Myrick. David Griffin Interview: Sentient Goo Behind Falklands War

Have you ever wondered, what really happened in the Falklands and British justification for brief 1982 war? Purely Pacific Northwest by John Ecklund

What will 13 months, 260,000 images and 6.3 terabytes of hard drive space get you? John Ecklund, a photographer who resides in Portland, OR, shows results on website, "The Art Of The Time-Lapse."  Eklund   creates a captivating timelapse titled, "Purely Pacific Northwest." In Universe Today article, "Beautiful Timelapse: Purely Pacific Northwest," Eklund shares belief timelapse photography reveals a further truth, "'Here in the Pacific Northwest, there are endless opportunities to document the magnificence of the world around us. I have discovered that when time is the storyteller, a special kind of truth emerges.'" It's a beautiful and soothing video montage, which includes shots of Mt St. Helen, Crater Lake and the Milky Way.  It's an impressive and enriching four minutes!  Hats off to Ecklund!
