Strange Metal Boxes on Oregon Beaches Debunked?
A story on a local, Oregon website - "Strange boxes spark UFO rumors," written by Terry Dillman - reports with obligatory dismissal on the sightings last week of the "mystery boxes" on Bray's Point and Stonefield beaches. Dillman insists the boxes were "wood-framed, fiberglass-covered dock floats," he dismisses the phenomena as internet rumor gone viral. Hong Kong reporter Yoichi Shimatsu believes the metal boxes are stepping transformers which floated from Japan. The strange heavy metal boxes float because the fluid inside is lighter than water. You can hear Shimatsu's take on the strange, metal boxes here: he suspects that the reason they were removed so quickly is that the boxes contained contaminants.
