Sun points a loaded gun at us
Sunspot AR1416 aimed at Earth over weekend, reports Universe Today. AR1416 reported capable of hurling M-Class flares earthward. "M-class flares are medium-sized solar flares. They can cause brief radio blackouts that affect Earth’s polar regions. Minor radiation storms sometimes follow an M-class flare event," reports article. A NASA FAQ about the Sun available here.
