fastest computer in US hunts pedophiles
Oak Ridge National Laboratory pledged help of $200 million Jaguar supercomputer to hunt down pedophiles, according to Mail Online article. Grier Weeks, Executive Director of the National Association to Protect Children commented, "there is no tool to interrupt child sexual abuse on a scale like this." Jaguar, equipped with 224,256 processors, will use algorithms developed by lead investigator Robert Patton of the project to look at search terms entered on peer-to-peer, file-sharing websites and track IP addresses that respond to queries. "This directs law enforcement agencies toward the computers that are posting new material on file-sharing networks." Will wealthy oligarchs--judges, businessmen and congressmen--draw a pass if their IP addresses turn up?
